Valid Method Names

When a method is named in an On trigger, or a method is called via the Make or the Broadcast action, you need to make sure that the name you are providing is a valid one. Here are the rules for giving valid names to methods:

  • Method names need to be unique
  • Every character in the name needs to be an alphanumeric character (0-9, a-z, A-Z). A name can also contain dashes (-), underscores (_)
  • Spaces or dashes in the name will be replaced with underscores (_)
  • For compatibility with the Macintosh version of AgentSheets, method names cannot be the same as existing system methods, which should not be overwritten. System methods include some Visual AgenTalk actions, such as "Move" and "Broadcast".

AgentSheets will warn you if you violate these rules.
