Sound Level Condition

Definition:

The Sound Level condition checks the sound level from the microphone and compares it to a number or to a Visual AgenTalk Formula. This condition only works if a functioning microphone is attached to your computer.

The range of values for the sound level is 0 to 255, where the number "0" indicates silence and the number "255" indicates high volume.

If the comparison between the microphone level and the specified Formula yields true, this condition is true. Otherwise, it is false.

Parameters:

comparator, formula

Example:

In the Jam Session project, the Drummer agent plays his instrument if the sound level from the microphone is greater than 152.

 Ristretto Information:

This condition will not operate in Ristretto-generated applets since Java does not provide access to microphone input.
